Welcome to “My Reflections of Nature Art Quilts”.  I am fabric artist Marie Strassburger.  I love bringing my lifelong love of nature to my art in creating one-of-a-kind landscape fabric art.  Much of my work utilizes the applique technique utilized in some quilts.  However, these are not the traditional geometric quilts you might be more familiar with.  These are complex, multi-layered works of wall art. 

I am recently retired from a 30-year career as a wildlife biologist and am delighted to utilize my fabric artistry to reflect the wonders of our natural world.   Located in Truckee, CA, the Sierras provide incredible inspiration.  However, as an international traveler, I love gathering inspiration from across the continents.  My conservation experience, love of photography, fondness for  colors, and an affinity for detail all contribute to the beauty and detail of my art projects.
