Reno Quilt Show, Trash to Treasures Challenge Award Winner

I am thrilled to be an award winner for the Trash to Treasure Quilt Challenge at the Annual Reno Quilt Show held June 20-22, 2019.  The challenge was to utilize required elements provided in a “trash bag” to create any style of quilted product.  My elements included the letter N,  floral upholstery fabric, popcorn lace, cotton stone-style fabric, assorted bling of earrings and buttons, and blue yarn.  My inspiration came easily from the letter N that just looked like a gate.  That, combined with the floral upholstery fabric, started the brainstorming of creating a garden.  To make it both timeless and current, it became Mary Poppins secret garden.  Of course, she must have whimsy in her garden, thus the balloons and the flamingo.  The rest evolved as I added my own style of detail and pop.  Hope you like it!!
